We’ll we’re off. So far we’re pretty impressed. Especially with the snack baskets they have waiting at the front of the bus every time you board or disembark. Fresh fruit, minties, sherbies and other stuff that I haven’t got around to sampling yet. The challenge will be to walk past without grabbing something. There’s 17 on tour – a nice number. I’m guessing the average age starts with a 7 although the couple we chatted to over dinner last night were born in the 40’s so maybe I’m underestimating. As “ single supplements” we each get our own seat on the bus which, aside from the snack box, includes a screen showing the road in front of the bus, and a toot down the back which apparently will come into play in some of the more remote places we visit .
After being collected at lunch time, today we spent our first hour on the important task of selecting from menus for the next couple of days. We then returned to Palm Beach, before heading out to Port Douglas for a bit of a town tour and wander around shops before arriving at the Mirage where we adjourned poolside for a sundowner.
