Happy Easter

Easter bunny found me in Ceduna. I hope he found you all as well. Co incidentally, Kerry and David arrived in town a couple of days ago. We celebrated with a seafood lunch at the local ocean side pub – which is definitely the highlight of the town. Wonderful food.

The other really cool place is the local swimming pool which is off the side of the jetty about 100 metres out from shore. A couple of swimmers and a few people fishing and crabbing off the jetty when I walked out this morning. The crab guys were struggling as there was a huge stingray nicking the bait from their pots – every time they moved the pots the stingray just followed along.

Aside from the shore front, Ceduna is, as expected, pretty dry and dusty. The strong trend in garden landscaping is a mix of rocks and sand. The same applies at the local golf club. I picked up a Nullarbor Links scorecard, and wandered down to the golf course for the first two holes. Unfortunately the club was closed and, as I couldn’t get hold of any clubs to play, I made do with walking the holes. As you can see from the photo, no great loss in not being able to play.

I’m heading off across the Nullarbor tomorrow – a day earlier than originally planned. Kerry and David are heading in the same direction and, like me, their next major stop is Kalgoorlie.
